Our Mission - "Eff the Ineffable"
Are you troubled by weird dreams of a violent past life? Was your child born speaking a rare, dead language? Have you or your loved ones ever hosted an undead Sumerian god?
If the answer is YES, pick up the phone and call the
Perceptual Studies Program: (724) 237-5346!
We're ready to believe you!

Founded in 1848, the Flaherty College Charter established the School of Metaphysical Studies (later renamed the Department of Parapsychology) as part of Founder Gene Flaherty's mission to explore the science at the edge of science and the fascinating phenomena of spiritual and hyper-perceptual experiences. The Department of Perceptual Studies (DOPS) is a research group devoted to empirically evaluating empirical evidence for extraordinary human experiences and capacities.

For over 170 years, DOPS has pioneered research into the mind's ability to penetrate beyond the five senses and to receive and analyze extra-sensory information which may be the next step in human development. The study of human interactivity with what is currently described as paranormal or hyper-reality may unlock what has been at the root of superstition but could be the key to future breakthroughs in psychological and medical treatments.

The DOPS team consists of professionals in physics, engineering, psychology, and technology, representing the pinnacle of Flaherty College's commitment to the sciences as each is a graduate of its undergraduate programs. Working with partners, DOPS affirms the existence of life after death in the form of spiritual echoes, sentient psychic entities, and the ability of humans to communicate in more than four dimensions.
